In this project, I helped a startup build a HORECA Booking Platform in a way that optimized for cost-efficiency and time to market.
The platform allowed customers to
- View bars, restaurants, nightclubs, services, activities and most recent events in town
- Make many types of reservations
- Book tables at Restaurants & Night Clubs
- Reserve time slots for Services or Activities
- Buy tickets to events
- Rent apartments, boats, or cars
- View their booking calendar
- Integrate their contacts and invite their friends to their bookings
- Pay for their bookings
- Split the bill with their friends
The platform allowed institutions to
- Manage their profile and booking options
- Integrate their existing capacity management software
- Manage their operation hours and capacity
- Set a minimum price for the bookings
- Add extra services to the reservations (i.e. specified bottle of drink)
- Offer different areas/levels of service/hours with differentiated pricing
- Get paid through the platform
What did I do in this project?
I advised the client about building a two-sided marketplace that is easy to build and operate with limited resources.
- I researched a suite of apps, plugins, and scripts that would provide the functionality the client was requesting.
- Managed 3rd party developers to integrate existing solutions and build a cohesive platform.
